A space rock will be traveling toward Earth in the next days at a speed of roughly 30,000 miles per hour, according to the NASA database.
Scientists who have been tracking the space rock, an asteroid known as 2007 FF1, believe that it has a diameter of between 360 and 656 feet. The asteroid 2007 FF1 was about to make its closest approach to Earth yet when it was photographed by the Virtual Telescope Project on March 24 at a distance of 7.2 million miles from the planet.
On April 1st 2022, it will pass Earth at a distance of around 74,23,046 kilometers.
Due to its diameter of 500 feet or more and orbital closeness to Earth of 4.6 million miles, or about 19.5 times the distance to the moon, NASA has classified the asteroid as “possibly dangerous.” The object known as 2007 FF1 was discovered in 2007, and it came the closest to Earth in August 2020, traveling just 10.8 million miles away. On April 2, 2037, the object known as 2007 FF1 is predicted to come within 927,000 miles of Earth.
